Contemporary Scenography explores scenographic concepts, practices, and aesthetics in Germany from 1989 to the present. In response to the end of the political divide, the digital age, and globalization, designers and scenographers have adapted in diverse ways to these cultural shifts. This edited volume features 12 original chapters by acclaimed scenographers, stage designers, and distinguished scholars, providing fresh insights and analyses of current artistic concepts and innovations in this dynamic field. It encompasses a wide range of scenography, including theatre works by notable figures such as Katrin Brack, Bert Neumann, and Rimini Protokoll, as well as scenography in museums, exhibitions, and urban contexts.
