Privacy is a fundamental human right. In modern society the capabilities to protect our privacy are greater than ever, yet, so are the capabilities to compromise that privacy. This book looks at the rise of surveillance technology, the ways in which privacy can be invaded without our knowledge and the laws created to protect us. It also examines the issue of ‘sharenting’ – breaching children’s privacy by posting photos of them on social media without their consent.
