A Reckoning

Set in 1855 Virginia, the story follows brothers Benjamin and John Dickinson as their farm becomes a site of resistance against slavery. A Northern abolitionist secretly aids enslaved individuals by providing them with crucial tools for escape. Bry, the first to flee, embarks on a perilous journey to reunite with his mother and daughter in Canada, sparking hope and courage among others who join him in seeking freedom.
