In 1759, the passage of Halley's Comet causes a catastrophic event that separates the New World from the Old. A new mountain range emerges in the Mid-Atlantic, and ships can no longer navigate between the two worlds, with many disappearing in the attempt. The comet also unleashes magical forces, leading slaves to harness African witchcraft, bringing forth monsters into America. Native tribes follow suit, while some European settlers blend Old World technology with sorcery.
