Beauty in a Box

Beauty in a Box explores the history of black beauty culture in Canada (its inventors, distribution networks, media, and retail end-points), and its similarities to, and departures from, African American beauty culture. It also traces media constructions of race that have circulated transnationally between Canada and the United States.
