The Things We Promise

Set in the early 1990s, the story follows Gemma, who is preoccupied with her appearance and the upcoming school formal. Her brother Billy, a rising hair and make-up artist, promises to help her and her friends shine on this special night. However, his return brings unexpected complications, revealing family secrets and testing friendships. As Gemma navigates her hopes of impressing Ralph and the challenges that arise, she discovers that the significance of the evening goes beyond just her dress.
