Diana Dimitrova highlights how myth and discourse shape these representations, revealing either traditionalist or modernist perspectives on religious themes. She also notes the lack of engagement with other religious traditions, proposing that the Hindi theatre of this era should be characterized as distinctly 'Hindu-Hindi'.
