Branch Lines to Bartlow

The rural lines of northwest Essex were peaceful backwaters of the BR network, but carried much agricultural traffic of a seasonal nature. Most passenger trains were short, with ageing engines. The great variety is extensively illustrated, along with maps and tickets from the past. Includes 120 photographs, large scale maps, and other details of local history.
