Few are those who do not recognise the phrase 'There are fairies at the bottom of our garden', but few are those who will recall the author, Rose Fyleman. This collection was first published in 1923, with marvellous illustrations by Hilda T Miller. Rose Fyleman understood the role of fairies in childhood, and in those of us who can still think like a child.
