Feeling responsible for his friend's death, Jim Madigan, a northern drifter, lets himself be bound by a promise to remain in a town where he is considered a hell-raiser and a cattle thief! In fact, his whole family hadn't been able to resist getting into fights, but his three brothers died - will he be able to avoid going the same way.
