The book explores the evolution and current state of administrative procedure law across nine European countries. The authors aim to highlight the differences and similarities in administrative procedures, tracing their origins back to the Habsburg Monarchy and the judicial practices of the Vienna Administrative Court. This historical context laid the groundwork for the Austrian codification of general administrative procedure established by the 1925 Act – Allgemeines Verwaltungsverfahrensgesetz.
