This book examines the European Union's influence over sport governing bodies, contrasting its limited action during the 2015 FIFA corruption scandal with decisive US measures. Using a triangular principal-agent model, it highlights the EU's significant yet complicated control opportunities over SGBs, while also addressing strategies SGBs use to mitigate that control.
