The verb and possessive determinants are treated in the first volume, while syntax, complex and compound sentences and hyper syntax are analysed in the second volume. Dušková follows on from the most eminent Czech linguists like Vilém Mathesius, Bohumil Trnka and Josef Trnka. Dušková's work is based on structuralism and confrontation methodology.
