Focusing on the principles of good governance, this study examines the critical issues of gender equality and political representation in Zambia. Despite democratic ideals promoting empowerment and participation, the 2013 MDGs progress report highlights the country's persistent underrepresentation of women in politics, with only 6.3% in local councils and 13.9% in parliament as of 2015. The research analyzes the policies of major political parties regarding gender quotas and reserved seats, proposing mechanisms to enhance female representation in governance.
