Exploring the role of vagueness in human communication, this work emphasizes how imprecise concepts enhance the flexibility and robustness of language. It argues that strict definitions limit our ability to convey meaningful information, as perceptions often lack the precision for formal verification. The study extends into Artificial Intelligence, aiming to model vague concepts to integrate their adaptability into intelligent systems. The author’s interest in this topic was sparked while collaborating on a probability theory for fuzzy events, highlighting the intersection of language and AI.
