The Heathery Isle

Set against the backdrop of World War I, two men from different backgrounds, Ewan MacBride and Peter Baum, forge a deep friendship after stowing away to Canada. Their skills lead them to success in Halifax, but the war forces them into opposing armies. The narrative vividly depicts historic battles like Ypres and Vimy Ridge, alongside the Titanic's sinking and the Halifax Explosion. As they endure the horrors of war, both men grapple with their longing for home and family, developing a mutual disdain for the conflict that separates them.
