Focusing on the years between the end of the Anglo-French alliance in 1731 and the onset of war in 1744, this study explores the intricate dynamics of British politics and foreign policy during a tumultuous era. Utilizing a variety of foreign and domestic sources, particularly foreign diplomatic records, the author sheds light on the complexities of the British state and its diplomatic maneuvers in the context of European history. This work builds upon previous studies, offering a deeper understanding of the geopolitical landscape of the time.
