Unwanted Priest

Fr. Bryan Houghton's journey reflects profound personal and spiritual transitions, beginning with his conversion from Protestantism to Catholicism. Embracing the priesthood, he dedicated himself to traditional roles of sacrifice and preaching. However, the transformative changes brought by the Second Vatican Council and subsequent liturgical reforms led him to a crisis of faith. Struggling with the alterations to the Mass and the erosion of liturgical tradition, he ultimately resigned and retreated to southern France, where he focused on prayer, the Tridentine Mass, and documenting his experiences in memoirs.
