MAINSTREAMING GENDER IN THE CONTROL OF SMALL ARMS AND LIGHT WEAPONS

Focusing on the intersection of gender and small arms and light weapons (SALW) proliferation, this paper highlights the critical need for gender-sensitive approaches in SALW control policies. It addresses the unique challenges faced by women and the often-overlooked experiences of men as victims of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Through detailed case studies, the work advocates for inclusive legislation and training, emphasizing that integrating gender considerations is essential for achieving equitable and sustainable peace.
