Thieving Forest

Set in 1806, the story follows seventeen-year-old Susanna Quiner as she witnesses the kidnapping of her four sisters by Potawatomi Indians. With her parents deceased and no one around to help, Susanna impulsively embarks on a dangerous journey to rescue them. Alongside her quest, the narrative explores the lives of her sisters in their new circumstances, highlighting themes of bravery, family bonds, and the impact of cultural encounters in the wilderness of Ohio's Great Black Swamp.
