Focusing on the educational challenges faced by Somali immigrant and refugee students identified as limited English proficient (LEP) with disabilities, this study addresses a significant gap in research. It explores the unique characteristics of these students within a Midwestern urban school district and examines the cultural perspectives on disability from the African immigrant community. Insights from community providers regarding disability and special education are also included, making this research valuable for educators and policymakers in diverse educational settings.
