Theorising Literary Islands

Focusing on the Robinsonade genre, this study explores its ideological implications in contemporary Anglophone culture. It examines how literature and film shape perceptions of the Pacific region and influence European and American relationships with it in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Through an epistemological lens, the book delves into the genre's evolution and its cultural significance, highlighting the interplay between narrative and geopolitical contexts.
