The study examines the causes and manifestations of insalubrity in secondary schools in Abomey, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data from 20 schools. It involved interviews with 618 stakeholders, including students, teachers, and health officials. Key findings reveal that poor school conditions and user behavior contribute significantly to insalubrity, highlighted by inadequate security measures—45% of schools are unfenced—and a low communal toilet coverage rate of just 30.32%, indicating a strain on existing sanitation facilities.
