Olga Benario, a dynamic Communist activist of the twentieth century, dedicated her life to fighting Nazism and fascism. At just nineteen, she orchestrated a prison break for her lover, Otto Braun, leading to their involvement in the international Communist movement in Moscow. Later, she became the bodyguard and lover of Brazilian guerrilla leader Luis Carlos Prestes, aiding his revolutionary efforts in Brazil. Captured and imprisoned while pregnant, she was ultimately deported to Nazi Germany, where she tragically perished in a gas chamber in 1942. This edition coincides with a new film adaptation.
