Brain structure and circuitry in body dysmorphic disorder

Focusing on the neurobiological underpinnings of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), this book explores its brain structure and circuitry through extensive neuroimaging. By analyzing the largest sample of BDD patients to date, the study compares their brain imaging results with those of healthy controls. Utilizing advanced techniques such as structural MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, and resting state functional MRI, the research aims to shed light on the mechanisms that contribute to the onset and persistence of BDD, enhancing understanding of this prevalent mental disorder.
