A father who leaves. A mother who is depressed. A back-alley abortion at fifteen and later, three children with an abusive boyfriend who slides ever deeper into drugs and alcohol and drags her with him. That is what Livvy has to save herself from, and she does. Livvy gets clean, finds a job, provides for her kids, builds a career, and meets a decent man who loves her with respect. Everything could not be more perfect. Only, with perfection, there is nothing left to fight against, and doubt and fear seep in. Doubt, she deserves this life. Fear, she is becoming everything she wants to escape. Livvy tries to keep the darkness away with wine and more wine until that one Thanksgiving when her children stage an intervention for her.
