The Concealed Weapon, Book I of the exciting fantasy adventure series The Known Lands, is an entrancing story which is out of the same genre as J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Containing subtle theological overtones, The Concealed Weapon relates the trials of a young boy named William who, along with his friend, Kevin, must overcome great obstacles and terrifying evil. Entering upon an epic journey, the two boys face harrowing challenges in safeguarding a very powerful weapon. Their goal is to reach the capital city of the Known Lands in an attempt to find help. At the same time, the story details the meetings and strategy planning of Bishop Alexander Hudson and the Council of Bishops in Illos, the capital city, along with the war against the Jade Tribes to the south, led by Captain Conrad Barrett of the Dunsmouth garrison. As the story progresses, both the Council of Bishops and the soldiers comprising the Dunsmouth garrison come to the horrifying realization that they're being opposed by a very powerful force, perhaps even an indomitable evil!
