God often chooses ordinary people to perform extraordinary feats. He causes the humble to be exalted while bringing the proud to their knees. He blesses the poor while stripping wealth from the wicked. The weak become strong while the strength of the mighty crumbles. God has always astounded mankind with miraculous intervention and displays of omnipotent power. Using scripture and human insight, I have tried to paint a verbal protrait of some of the people God used in biblical times. Some were people who rejected Jesus in spite of His best efforts to save them. Some had great influence and authority. Others were ordinary people with weaknesses, fears and doubts who accepted God's call and persevered with a strength born of faith. They were people who were touched by Heaven, people just like you and me.
