Más información sobre el libro

This research work focuses on detailing, in a historical format, the process of evolution of the West Zone (RJ), under the context of the creation of the Pedra Branca State Park (RJ), presenting the history of the Organic Farmers of Rio do Prata from the Campo Grande neighbourhood, in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, and the motivations that made them remain in the protected area after its creation, their strong relationship with the land and with agricultural culture. The set of social, political, economic and environmental changes that reflect on the community has re-signified the relations present in the tension between urban and rural, and are manifested in the face of the growing and notorious implementation of tourist activity in the place, from the historical and memorial rescue, the traditional community is strengthened and promotes its agricultural identity. Currently, even with more flexible environmental policies, and with the recognition of the Park administration as allies, farmers still remain without land ownership, which still causes insecurity regarding their future.
