Delegation is considered a necessity in the nursing profession and is the only solution to the current and expected nursing shortage including the shortage of qualified nurse managers. Delegation leads to safe, efficient and cost-effective care and helps nursing staff develop their skills. The concept of delegation needs to be introduced early in student life as exposure will allow them to develop comprehensive knowledge.
