Más información sobre el libro

Great Expectations is one of Dickers s most forcefully moral yet movingly hurnar novels. The development Of Philip ('Pip') Pirrip's character after he learns of ' great expectations ' of wealth from a mysterious source shows that pride comes before a fall. But he is not the only character to learn from his errors: Estella, a young protégée of the half-deranged Miss Havisham. has used her beauty as a weapon and she suffers too. Dickens portrays repentance and forgiveness with skill, creating a novel of remarkable thematic strength. He changed his original ending on Bulwer-Lytton's advice; the rejected ending is offered in an appendix to this edition. The Oxford Illustrated Dickens This collectable series is the most comprehensive illustrated Dickens available. Each volume includes up to seventy-six early engravings, many of which appeared in the first editions of these works. The text is derived from the Charles Dickens Edition, revised by the author in the 1860s.
