Más información sobre el libro

Grimm's Fairy Tales is a renowned collection of German fairy tales by the Grimm brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm. The first volume was published in 1812, featuring 86 stories, followed by a second volume of 70 tales in 1815. Subsequent editions expanded the collection, with a total of 170 tales by 1822 and 211 by the seventh edition in 1857. The tales were illustrated by Philipp Grot Johann and later by Robert Leinweber. Initial volumes faced criticism for being unsuitable for children due to their scholarly content and darker themes. Over the years, the brothers made changes to enhance suitability, such as altering the wicked mother in stories like Snow White and Hansel and Gretel to a stepmother. They also removed certain sexual references, yet increased the violence in punishing villains. In 1825, the Brothers published the Kleine Ausgabe, a selection of 50 tales aimed at young readers, which saw ten editions between 1825 and 1858. This adaptation sought to make the stories more accessible to children while retaining their enchanting and cautionary essence.
