America in the 21st Century. Iowa is a repressive, God-fearing and prosperous police state. Back East there is violence, starvation, and decadence. But back East, there is also flight. There is no singing in Iowa because song is the door to the freedom of flight. So Daniel and his bride Boa escape to New York for the chance of soaring free of their bodies on wings of song. Boa takes flight, leaving Daniel earthbound. And Daniel sets off on a search for his song through an enchanting and bizarre world rich in black comedy and sexual adventurism.
