No Fear Shakespeare Graphic Novels is a series based on the translated texts of the plays found in No Fear Shakespeare. The original No Fear series made Shakespeare’s plays much easier to read, but these dynamic visual adaptations are impossible to put down. Each of the titles is illustrated in its own unique style, but all are distinctively offbeat, slightly funky, and appealing to teen readers. Each book will feature:
For lovers of timeless classics, this series of beautifully packaged and affordably priced editions of world literature encompasses a variety of literary genres, including theater, novels, poems, and essays.

The greatest tragic plays of William Shakespeare—including Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth. What is tragedy? The Elizabethans defined it as a “lofty” play showing “personages of great state” caught up in a “lamentable” action that “beginneth prosperously and endeth unfortunately.” Whether judged by this or any other standard, the plays selected for this collection are considered to be the four central works of Shakespearean tragedy and must be included in any list of the world's finest tragic literature. Set in an enchanted forest, Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is the ideal subject for artist Marcel Dzama, whose work frequently references dreams, fairy tales, and mythical worlds.0Inspired by Ovid's 'Metamorphoses', Shakespeare's celebrated romantic comedy intertwines multiple narratives under the influence of transformation and witchcraft. The play is often staged with actors wearing animal masks, an aspect that appeals particularly to Dzama, whose work is characterized by the fusion of human and animal, fantasy and reality.0As the second title in David Zwirner Books's Seeing Shakespeare series, this book revisits this ultimate fairy tale through the eyes of a contemporary artist who feels a special affinity for its imagery

This revised edition of the Arden Shakespeare Complete Works includes the full text of Double Falsehood, which was published in the Arden Third series to critical acclaim in 2010. The play is an eighteenth century rewrite of Shakespeare's "lost" play Cardenio and as such is a fascinating testament to the original. A short introduction outlines its complex textual history and the arguments for including it within the Shakespeare canon. The Complete Works contains the texts of all Shakespeare's plays, poems and sonnets, edited by leading Shakespeare scholars for the renowned Arden series. A general introduction gives the reader an overall view of how and why Shakespeare has become such an influential cultural icon, and how perceptions of his work have changed in the intervening four centuries. The introduction summarises the known facts about the dramatist's life, his reading and use of sources, and the nature of theatrical performance during his lifetime. Brief introductions to each play, written specially for this volume by the Arden General Editors, discuss the date and contemporary context of the play, its position within Shakespeare's oeuvre, and its subsequent performance history. An extensive glossary explains vocabulary which may be unfamiliar to modern readers.

Jako příklad lze uvést zmínku Ofelie o opakovaných slovech refrénu:a-down a-down (4.5.170), a-down a“.
Mistaken identities drive the humorous plot of this play, as Sebastian and his twin sister, Viola, are separated by a shipwreck and each thinks the other has perished. Viola disguises herself as a man, leading to a series of comedic misunderstandings and romantic entanglements. The story explores themes of love, gender roles, and the complexities of identity, culminating in a lively and entertaining narrative filled with witty dialogue and engaging characters.
The Comedies with Introductions by Judith Buchanan These Comedies are among
the best loved of Shakespeare's plays. In each a problem emerges, is then
intensified to a point of maximum confusion and potential upset, before the
chaos is resolved, however improbably, into general goodwill and a spate of
marriages. The triumph of these plays lies in the way they mingle humorous
stage business and dexterous word play with a more serious study of identity,
gender, dreaming, the meaning of love, even of the theatre itself. They
reassure us that with all its faults, the world will always in the end be
redeemable. The Tragedies with Introductions by Emma Smith 'Not for an age but
for all time.' So Ben Jonson established what we now take for granted:
Shakespeare's unique place among the world's great authors. Romeo and Juliet
shows us the archetypal story of fated young love; Hamlet, the tortured psyche
of the young prince of Denmark; Othello, a strikingly modern representation of
racial difference; King Lear, a man stripped of all material and psychological
comforts; and Macbeth, a dark investigation of the origins and effects of,
evil. The plays throw a fascinating light on the concerns of Shakespeare's
day, yet offer perennial insights into the nature of human emotion.
