Focusing on the integration of African narratives in language education, the research proposal argues for their use as a teaching tool in Gabon's ELE classes. It posits that African stories can enhance not only intercultural understanding but also improve oral expression among first-cycle students learning Spanish as a foreign language. While acknowledging the current emphasis on intercultural approaches, the work aims to demonstrate the potential of African storytelling in fostering oral skills development in the classroom.
The book explores the acquisition of Spanish as a foreign language in Gabon, emphasizing the influence of local mother tongues on learners' verbal production. It highlights the importance of contrasting these languages to identify similarities that aid in learning. Specifically, a contrastive analysis between Inzebi and Spanish reveals shared phonetic features, including five vowel and eighteen consonant phonemes, which can enhance phonetic perception and facilitate the learning process for Gabonese students.
