Más información sobre el libro

Calliope, the muse of epic poetry in ancient mythology, is characterized by her attributes of pen and tablet. In traditional metalwork, particularly Art Nouveau, she inspired final pieces known as calliope, often seen at the end of columns. This concept influenced Partenheimer's edition for the Nymphenburg porcelain manufactory in Munich, featuring three uniquely shaped vessels. His designs, rooted in abstract construction drawings, highlight his minimalist yet poetic style. The vessels in the "CALLIOPE" edition are hand-turned, a rare technique for Nymphenburg, which typically utilizes molds. Their forms are shaped by the unpredictable nature of porcelain during wetting, drying, firing, and glazing. The molds are intentionally exposed to conditions that allow the porcelain to melt, move, and cure. This edition includes seven exclusive copies, combining three different forms, available in biscuit or glaze-fired finishes with various colors and patterns. Each vessel is unique, signed, and numbered by the artist. Following previous presentations of individual pieces, this book showcases the complete series for the first time, alongside drawings and documentary photos from various stages of the creative process. The exhibition took place at the Musée Ariana in Geneva from November 20, 2015, to March 20, 2016.
