Architecture, Urban Space and War

Focusing on the architectural and urban impacts of the ethnic-nationalist conflict in Sarajevo during and after the 1992-1995 siege, this book explores the destruction and subsequent reconstruction of the city. It examines how these changes influence the territory, boundaries, and identity of the city, revealing the dual role of urban space in mediating violence and promoting either segregation or reconciliation. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, the study offers a novel spatial framework for understanding the political dynamics of contemporary urban environments.
