Bajo este enigmático título se esconde una novela muy especial. Lo es porque anda a medio camino entre la novela y la historia, y porque el autor se va involucrando de alguna manera en los hechos. Por esta obra, recibió Laurent Binet el Premio Goncourt a la primera novela 2010. El título es un acrónimo que obedece a las iniciales de Himmlers Hirn heißt Heydrich (“el cerebro de Himmler se llama Heydrich”). La novela narra la llamada operación “Antropoide”, que llevaron a cabo en 1942 dos paracaidistas de la resistencia checa para asesinar a Reinhard Heydrich, jefe de la Gestapo y de los servicios secretos nazis, planificador de la Solució Final, “el verdugo de Praga” o “la bestia rubia”, que fue sanguinario amo y señor del Protectorado de Bohemia y Moravia. La novela tiene calidad literaria, avanza bien y el autor nos va introduciendo paulatinamente en los personajes de esta historia. Saber el final no obsta para que la narración tenga siempre interés. Quizá pueda desorientar al lector las incursiones que el autor hace en sucesos posteriores a los narrados o en la época actual, introduciendo la duda de si la ficción tiene cabida en una obra eminentemente histórica. Sea como sea, es una novela destacada y recomendable, que gustará sobre todo a quienes tienen preferencia por los temas de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
