Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

The story originated during a boat trip on the Thames in 1862, when Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, known as Lewis Carroll, was encouraged by three young girls, including Alice Liddell, to create a tale. This whimsical narrative, first published in 1865, features references to the boat party throughout. Illustrator June Lornie's childhood experiences in hospitals and her fascination with the character of Alice inspired her to create a full set of illustrations for the story, leading to numerous exhibitions and a deep connection with Carroll's work.
